A Message about COVID Protocols

With the fall season underway, we would like to take a moment to remind you about our club protocols for handling COVID-19.

The Stoughton Area Youth Soccer Association (SAYSA) is following guidelines established by its umbrella organizations, the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) and the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA). You can view the latest guidelines here

These guidelines reference the current public order from Madison and Dane County Public Health and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in the event of infection or exposure to an infected person. As a member of SAYSA, you have a responsibility to help keep your fellow club members safe, so we ask you to read and be familiar with these measures.

That said, in a nutshell, here are some simple steps you can follow that will help us keep our club safe and healthy:

  1. If your player is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, have them tested and keep them home from practices, games, and SAYSA activities while you await the results and immediatley notify your coach.
  2. If your player has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 (defined by the CDC as being within 6 feet of someone for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period), or public health has identified your player as a close contact, your player should follow CDC and local public health guidelines for quarantine and any other follow-up steps, and you should immediately notify your coach.
  3. If anyone in your player’s household is experiencing symptoms, is being quarantined, or is waiting a COVID test result, keep your player home from practices, games, and SAYSA activities and immediately notify your coach.
  4. If your player tests positive for COVID-19, please keep them home from practices and games and immediately notify your coach.

Following your notification, your coach will work with the SAYSA board on next steps and possible communication to your team. If necessary, a board member will be in touch with you to gather additional information, help you understand and navigate club protocols, and work out a plan for a safe return to play. We will respect family privacy and confidentiality throughout this process.

Through these simple measures, we can ensure a safe, fun, and successful season. If you have questions, please contact Kasi Quale at info@stoughtonsoccer.com.

Best of luck to your team this fall!

Sincerely,

The SAYSA board
